Modifying the Weiler 56490 Mandrel

By modifying  Weiler 56490 with the addition of a male M6 extension enables a flap wheel to be fitted . 

The shank inserts into a die grinder chuck that accepts 1/4″ or 6.3 mm stem or shaft sizes – This 20mm extended shaft by enables abrasive flap wheels 20 mm to 60 mm diameter to be mounted.

The Pros……..

All parts are Carbon steel to provide strength and extended tool life

Extended from the end of the chuck.

When you have the mandrel, the Flap wheels are less expensive than a full flap wheel and arbour.

The uses……..

Very suitable for all metals and plastics – Limited use on woods as the grit becomes clogged.

Ideal for de-rusting, deburring and removing scratches.

Ensure the flap wheel is in the correct orientation.

In Grit sizes : 80, 320 & 600

Outside Diameters: 25 & 30

These flap discs don’t dig in and last a little longer than the drum type.
